custom orders are going up today... but there's lots more to come. As for this very moment there are 7 steins for yarn that surround me, and all are attached to some sort of UFO {unfinished object}. I've started quite a number of hats, and Im the middle of most of them. All of them are going to be listed soon, just you wait...

The "Uber Slouchy Sweeeet Hat"

My latest Slouchy creation.

My latest sale and latest creation is this tan slouchy hat. I used the "puffy" stitch I love so much and the loveliest {acrylic} yarn I could get my hands on. I've made variations of this same hat but since I already mastered the originally pattern that I learned how to construct a hat from I've been trying different things to make it my own pattern and style.

Tis another hat to make it's way into my shop.

MacLovin'

I've been developing and spicing up my "MacLovin Sleeve".

While trying to figure out how to lift the spirits of my little ole' laptop sleeve I decided to go with my branch idea, that came from the general idea and use of Mr. Mac A. Roni himself. With Him I'm hoping and praying that I can branch out of my current situation and "get out there" in the design world {and or craft world} and get some sort of exposure.

So far, so good

And who knows where or what the Lord can do
with me, Mr. Mac and even Etsy.

For now here's my finished product.
My Branch & Buttons MacLovin' sleeve.

And because I love yellow I lined it with this awesomely soft and durable felt like fabric. Mind you, this is only a sleeve not exactly a "case" so it's thick enough to protect from scratching and ruining the face of my laptop, but simply put its like a book cover not really a book bag. In time I will probably explore thicker fabrics and quilted linings to develop actual cases, but for now sleeves are what I'll be making.

Alright, back to the cutting board for sleeve numero dose,
and to the sketch book I go for more spinach love.

Happy Monday everyone.

Hey Love

Busy Little Bee

I've been a busy little bee. I've been uber busy drawing, crafting, crocheting and generating superhero ideas, all in the comfort of my own bed. You should see the mess I make ... or not. Haha

As for this ever so cute little bumble bee hat, I'll be selling it in my shop and maybe even the pattern for it.

Mr. Mac A. Roni

I got a little package today.

And I've named him, with a little help from a friend,
Mr. Mac A. Roni

No way was I thinking I'd be getting the Mac I had dreamed of anytime soon, but I did. Simply only by God's grace and provision. I'm going to put this computer into great use and as much as it has blessed me, I hope that I can use it to bless others.

It's funny God's blessings and timing. More and more I can see that the Lord both "gives, and takes away" when He sees fit. His timing might not be aligned to the time and plans we make for ourselves but the Lord knows and provides everything in His perfect time.

Building up my shop

I've been crafting, drawing and Etsy-ing all day. I'm almost ready to go live... almost. And for now there won't be many products listed in my shop but I'll for sure welcome custom orders.

{ NOTE: I can and will take any custom orders now, prior to opening my Etsy... just let me know here or via email: riniandfaith@gmail.com }

A Journal to keep note

Inspiration

I've been inspired by a number of people and a few things along this entire journey. Here are just a couple, and note that this is only the being of the journey.

Family. My mom and sister are both crafters too, mom taught me how to crochet along with an old friend of mine {Mrs. Ramos}, and my sister dearest who refueled my passion for handmade when she bought her own sewing machine and supported my crafting as well. My sister was also the one who taught me how to knit, she's my best critic.

Friends, both near and far. I can't say how much it means to get support from everyone. Whether is a little note that says they like my designs or my crafting, or if it were an hour long conversation about God's blessings through our talents, or situations, or even our trials. I love them all for being so encouraging and supportive with my art and crafts.

This one friend has been a huge inspiration for me, and her name is Rubyellen ... or the "cakies mama". Ruby has supported me in every way imaginable at this point. Whether sharing creativity, or her input on my designs, encouragement with all things crafty, or with daily life. She's the one who pushed me to really open up my shop and she was my first west coast customer. I've gotten nothing but love from her and her beautiful family and thought we're on opposite coasts I praise God for friends like Ruby and her family.

Happy Hooker

Today I stayed home and crafted up a storm. I took my little hook and crocheted about three hats, half of another, and put together two more ice cream cones. I'm still working on perfecting my little ice cream cone toy and I'm on the lookout for a perfect little bell to put in it to achieve the sound I want. Besides the little kinks with the ice cream, I've achieved alot in the past few days. I've perfected my hats and I'm currently in the process of finally listing my products on etsy. To bad my internet is being difficult, this whole process could be moving alot faster, but patiences is a virtue.

Come on in!

I established myself as a seller on Etsy today!

I was nervous and excited at the same time. Last night I established the Rini & Faith Esty account, but I slept on it and woke up ready to establish myself as a seller. It may be awhile, a few days at the most, before I post products to be purchased. So for now I will be using all the elbow grease I can muster up and work on my products .

If you want to take a look and see my empty little shop:
COME ON IN!
I've put up a temporary banner for now, one simply to fill the space and give it some kind of spirit while I work on a real banner that will be posted on a later date (same with this blog here).

Day One

So today marks the beginning of my little Etsy adventure.

I've finally chosen a name for my shop, "Rini & Faith" therefore I've finally been able to register it onto Etsy. It may take a few days till I establish myself as a seller because I'm still working out a few kinks, but I'm on my way. Honestly I'm a bit nervous, and timid, but with faith and a bit of elbow grease I believe I have some potential here.

While I'm here at the beginning, I should take the time and explain my shop name.
I choose Rini & Faith because and it's a combination of my name and my sister's name, and it stays true to the reason I opened up my shop in the first place, Faith. In highschool one of my closest friends called me Rini, short for Irene (but my first name in it's entirety is Irene Carole) and my sister's middle name is Faith (full name Joan Faith) so you get Rini & Faith. I've always had a love and passion for handmade things, my mom is where I get my craftiness from but it's my big sister who got me excited about it again. I'm opening my etsy up by faith because I'm not sure where it's going to take me, or even if I make a profit out if it, but no matter what I'm trusting God in all that I do, even crafting. I hope that even in this I may be a blessing to other, to my family and even bring praise to God.

PS. My personal blog is also here on blogger at IreneCarole.blogspot.com and I shall keep both blogs up to date. This blog here is going to be a documentation of my Etsy journey and hopefully it'll be an exciting one.
